Denture Relines and Rebases in Abbotsford
Over time, your mouth changes, whether from weight loss, bone shrinkage, aging, or health conditions, and dentures that once fit perfectly can start to feel loose. That’s where relines and rebases come in. These procedures are essential for keeping your dentures secure and comfortable.
What Is a Denture Reline?
A reline involves adding new material to the inside of your denture so it conforms to your current gum shape. Most patients need a reline every two to three years, or sooner if major changes occur.
There are two main types:
Chairside Reline
Done during your visit using quick-curing material. It’s fast and convenient but less durable than lab work.

Laboratory Reline
Completed in a dental lab for maximum precision and longevity. This option requires leaving your denture for most of the day but offers the best fit.
A laboratory-processed reline is regarded as one of the top options available and is highly durable. The acrylic is treated and hardened in the lab using the same method as the original denture's acrylic. When opting for a laboratory-processed reline, you will need to be without your denture for a significant portion of the day.

What Is a Denture Rebase?
A rebase is more extensive than a reline. Instead of adding material, we replace the entire acrylic base while keeping your existing teeth in place. Rebasing is often recommended when a denture has weakened from multiple repairs or sustained damage. In some cases, same-day service may be available depending on timing.
